Your doctor,
Your employer,
Your psychiatrist,
Your spiritual leader,
Your family,
and most importantly,
Yourself.
You will get me, or my voice mail. You don't have to talk with anyone else first. We can talk about what's going on, how I might be able to help, what you are seeking, what you need. Or you can just make an appointment. I can usually see people within a day or two.
I am an in-network with all of the major players -BCBS, Cigna, United, Tricare, Tricare Military, Aetna, Humana- and just about everyone else as well.
It's always a good idea to call your insurance company's customer service line (its on the back of your insurance card) and confirm benefits and coverage. Questions to ask include:
1. Have I met my "out of pocket" or "deductible" for the year?
2. Is Larry Ouellette an in-network provider (some have my first name as Laurence, which is the name on my license).
3. Have I met my deductible for the year (if not, you will be required to pay the
in-network fee per session until the deductible is met).
4. Have I reached my "out of pocket" limit for the year (if so, your sessions will cost you nothing).
I am contracted to provide EAP services with most area employers. EAP programs are designed to provide evaluation and short term, solution-focused counseling at no cost to you. Typically EAP referrals include a limited number of sessions with the option to continue counseling through your medical benefits if deemed appropriate. EAP referrals require preauthorization. Contact your Human Resources department for more information and a referral. (BTW, services provided through EAP programs are confidential and counseling content is not shared with your employer).
If you are using your insurance benefits, your insurer will be billed for your care at the contracted rate, which is substantially lower than my private pay rate which is $120 per session. You will be required to pay your co-payment at the time of the session. The co-payment amount is often listed on your insurance card, and for most insurers my co-payment is the same as for a primary care physician office visit.
The first session is often longer, because there's some paperwork to complete. Be prepared with your thoughts and concerns. I'm a good talker, but its a better session for you if you do the talking.
